After the cancellation of the MPA-Seminar 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce that this year's MPA-Seminar will take place on October 12-13. The seminar will be an hybrid event with a face-to-face part in the Filderhalle and with an online part. With this concept, we can also react to the current circumstances in October and switch to a sole online event.
Focus
The challenges of future energy generation, innovative production technologies as well as materials problems in hydrogen application are in the focus of the MPA-Seminar 2021.
Energy Transition is one of the most prominent keywords in the moment. This transition is also a challenge for materials behavior, lifetime and manufacturing of components in various technical applications. Hydrogen as the most promising energy carrier has for quite a number of materials a big influence on material behaviour and structural integrity e.g. for pipelines and components for generation, transport and use. During the transition phase lifetime of existing conventional energy generation plants will change due to completely different operation modes.
New manufacturing methods like additive manufacturing are strongly influencing quality and reliability of parts and components. Altogether methods to ensure the reliability of products and components are important and will be addressed in a special session organized in cooperation with VDI.
